Richard, aka "The Amazing Richard," began learning the craft of magic at the age of eight. He first caught the "magic bug" when an uncle pulled a playing card from behind his ear as a child.

Richard was self-taught at first,  reading all the magic books at local Cape Cod libraries times over. He studied with local and Boston professional magicians while in high school and began learning stagecraft through his high school drama department. He performed throughout college as a student UMass Boston, where he studied both technical theatre and acting. Richard has performed at a wide variety of venues and events, including tableside sleight of hand, private living rooms, theatres, and large stages including the 2,300 Cape Cod Melody Tent and South Shore Music Circus. Other venues include the Wheelock Family Theatre, Payment Performing Arts Center, Cape Cod Theatre, CCFTA, and hundreds more.
